Marcel Proust was very attached to Trouville. He passed many happy holidays there in his younger years at the 'Hotel des Roches Noires', as well as at his friends' home on the town's higher ground.

Trouville-sur-Mer has been and still is source of inspiration for many artists. These artists have all left their mark. Moreover, the atmosphere created by the great figures who stayed in Trouville is still very much in evidence today.

Even today, the writer's soul is present. A street is even named after him, and a bench is dedicated to him on the beach... And every time you pass in front of the Les Roches Noires hotel, you can't help but imagine him, with his old-fashioned moustache, on his balcony overlooking the sea.
