Breavoine cider house

Producer of Cider AOP, Pommeau and Calvados Pays d'Auge in Normandy.

We invite you to discover the products from the orchards located at the gates of Pont l'Evêque, in the heart of the Pays d'Auge. Michel Bréavoine and his team have been concentrating for more than 20 years a unique know-how to extract the best from each harvest, and thus offer a high quality cider production, year after year.

All the products that will be presented to you are available in the tasting room, within the estate itself, the place of production and processing from the apple to the bottle.

The apples are harvested by variety on the estate of more than 40 hectares.

Once harvested, they are sorted, washed and then grated. Apples showing defects are discarded by human action.

Finally, the apples are pressed using a pneumatic membrane press during long cycles allowing slow pressing which gives the must exceptional aromas.

The must is then sent to different vats to let the cider rest and carry out its fermentation.

The ciders are then assembled in order to bottle them to allow consistency in production throughout the year.

Apple juice is produced in less than 24 hours. Indeed, immediately pressed, the apple juice is filtered, pasteurized and bottled, hot to avoid any risk of starting fermentation.

During abundant harvests, the quantity of apples allows us to have our cider distilled in order to produce our calvados.
