Sea trips on an old rig

Located in Trouville-sur-Mer, the Petit Foc association is involved in the restoration of the François Monique, a traditional shell rig dating from 1935. Embark on a sea adventure of around 4 hours and discover traditional sailing in a new light.

Active in local events in Calvados, the association also organizes sailing programs for its members, in collaboration with the region's nautical clubs.

Come aboard the François Monique and let yourself be enchanted by the landscapes of the Côte Fleurie seen from the sea. And if you feel like it, you can even take part in the maneuvers!

Built at the Chantier du Fret by Auguste Tertu, the François Monique set sail for the first time on September 16, 1935. Designed for the fisherman Hervé Salaün, it was used for fishing for scallops, as well as for harvesting maërl and red seaweed. In 2008, Franck Brize bought it and brought it back to Deauville. With the support of volunteers and subsidies, he founded the Petit Foc association and undertook the restoration of the boat to restore its former glory.

The name of the boat pays homage to François Kermarrec, the first sailor on board, and to Monique, the niece of Hervé Salaün.
