From November 25 to December 10, 2022, Soroptimist International Deauville-Trouville participates in the fight against violence against women.

Violence against women and girls is one of the most widespread, persistent and devastating human rights violations in the world. It is a threat to millions of girls and women. All women can be victims, regardless of their age, social condition or level of education. This violence takes many forms: physical, sexual or psychological violence, genital mutilation, early marriage, economic abuse and exploitation, mistreatment of older women, not to mention harassment on social networks.

On December 20, 1993, the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted the Declaration on the elimination of violence against women and in 2014 the color ORANGE became the emblematic color of these 16 days of activism which go from November 25 international day for the fight against violence against women to december 10 international human rights day.

The Soroptimist International Deauville-Trouville, for several years, has been organizing events aimed at raising awareness and informing about violence: Screening of a film during this period, event which is now 10 years old, sitting, marches, awareness campaigns in high schools and among bakers among others.

This year 2022, Soroptimist International Deauville-Trouville is offering several distinct and complementary operations:

9th cinema operation

The film "La Terre des Hommes", by Naël Marandin, with Diane Rouxel, Finnegan Oldfield, Jalil Lespert and Olivier Gourmet will be screened at the L'AMBIANCE cinema in BLONVILLE SUR MER on Saturday November 26 at 15 p.m. The screening is free but participation is welcome in support of our actions

The number of places being limited, it is best to book before sideeauvilletrouville@gmail.com

Operation bread bags

30 bread bags will be distributed to partner bakers in the community of communes from November 000 with prevention messages on the signs of a toxic relationship and contacts to know.

Medicine bag operation

For the first time this year, 10 pharmacy bags will be distributed by pharmacists from November 000, with prevention messages on the signs of a toxic relationship and contacts to know. Other people may be affected as well.

Operation QR Codes

Stickers with informative QRCodes on the signs of a toxic relationship and local stakeholders to contact will be distributed to merchants and volunteer professionals, in order to be permanently stuck in places such as toilets, fitting rooms, and many other places. Not only intended for female victims, these informative stickers will also allow friends and neighbors of victims to act in the best way.

These stickers will begin rolling out during the 16 Days of Activism and will continue until local coverage is optimal.

Orange the Côte Fleurie

This operation continues from year to year, thanks to the logistical support of the cities of the community of communes which will show their support for this cause. At the same time, 22 advertising lollipops on the territory will relay our messages thanks to the participation of Medialine, for the first time this year.

Crowdfunding campaign

Printing bread bags, pharmacy bags and stickers with QRCodes is not free. So that we can inform more and more victims and relatives to prevent violence, we need the mobilization of everyone.

Do you support our actions and want to actively participate in the prevention operations that will take place on the Côte Fleurie between November 25 and December 10 by distributing bread bags, pharmacy bags and stickers with informative QRCode? Do not hesitate !
