THE STORY OF THE 4 CATS

A stone's throw from the famous rue des Bains, begins the world of the 4 cats. Its green façade, its warm lights wink at you and seem to say "Come in!" But come in! ". Yes but where ? On the side of restaurant "historic" on its two floors, with its open kitchen? Or from the side bar and its covered terrace, where you can now have a drink or dine outside, all year round?

Between the two and at the head of this resolutely funky ship, there is Serge Salmon, the jovial captain, always with a smile on his face, who leads the boat with his faithful crew members: behind the elders, Jean-Jacques for 26 years and Vincent , 22, flock to Sébastien, the chef, Trevis, Charlotte, Chloé and Youssouf, the youngest, who arrived 6 years ago. A great team, a family even! 30 years ago, Muriel and Serge made the slightly crazy gamble of opening this little bistro without almost a penny. An atypical place that looks like them.

If Muriel disappeared far too soon, Serge, known as Sergio and often "my Sergio", still twirls between the different spaces, perpetuating the same spirit, in this essential address in Trouville-sur-Mer which brings together gourmands and gourmets, partygoers and children. sages, people and illustrious strangers.

30 years later, people come here for the deliciously vintage atmosphere, the colorful posters and sets, and the moleskin chairs that make you feel “like at home”. Some even have their own napkin ring! We hurry there, for the delicious, fair and authentic cuisine around quality and seasonal products.

We come back for the flank steak (the one that makes the taste buds dance) and its inimitable sautéed potatoes, the langoustine tartare, the homemade bread or even the Norman good milk rice! Here, when entering these places, you leave your business card in the cloakroom. Whoever you are, if you want, you can be part of this beautiful family, at least during dinner time.

Les 4 chats is the bistro of all possibilities: become friends with your neighbors at the table, do the service, meet the love of your life...

If the red lime walls could talk, they would whisper hundreds of funny, touching, astonishing or moving anecdotes, which Serge's bobtail, Twiggy, the place's mascot, would gladly confirm.

This year Les 4 chats are celebrating their 30e birthday, without a wrinkle, with still shiny hair and keen eyes. So book a table quickly and succumb to its delights.
