Back to school isn't just about school bags. It's also the time to find a good reason to leave the house — and in Trouville-sur-Mer, there are plenty of opportunities.
September is approaching, the boardwalk is returning to its calm, and somewhere between the last dip in the sea and the first sweater, a little voice whispers that it's time to find something to do (again). A sport, a conversation, a music lesson for the children—or simply a habit to establish for good. Here are a few ideas gleaned from Trouville-sur-Mer to turn those good intentions of September into regular activities.
Trouville's associations, for a wealth of ideas all year round
The Sports and Civic Associations Forum, held in early September, brought together all of Trouville-sur-Mer's clubs, workshops, and community groups. Did you miss it? Don't worry: registration is still open at most organizations, and it's never too late to join a club.
To explore options from the comfort of your couch, the Trouville associations booklet lists all the organizations you can join — sports, culture, community support, leisure. Plenty to keep you busy, connect with others, or simply try something new.

The workshops at the Villa Montebello Museum, for children and adults

Facing the sea, the Villa Montebello museum is reopening its visual arts workshops for the year 2026-2027. The principle remains the same: you discover an exhibition or the collections, then you extend the visit with your fingers stained with color — drawing, painting, collage, ink, watercolor, engraving, modeling, land art in the museum garden.
Everyone finds their niche there:
- Wednesday workshops — for 7-13 year olds, all year round, with one group for the younger ones and another for the older ones: the meeting place for those who really want to learn the technique.
- The workshops of little hands — for 4-6 year olds, on Saturday mornings: a first encounter with art, without commitment, by the session.
- A Saturday with the family — parents and children (from age 4) create together, once a month.
- The adult workshop visit — one Saturday afternoon a month, a theme each time: linocut, plant prints, modeling, soapstone carving… A moment for oneself, with no other objective than the pleasure of doing.
The full program—dates, times, session themes, and prices—is detailed in the season booklet. For information and reservations, please contact the museum: +33 2 31 88 16 26 or ppgad@pucrs.br.
The philosophy café: to exercise the mind in good company
If your resolution leans more towards ideas than sports, the Trouville-sur-Mer Philosophy Café has been welcoming you for 29 years. The idea: to debate, respecting everyone's voice, around philosophical or civic themes chosen and presented by the members themselves. Some sessions even offer "open" topics, decided on the spot, for those who want more spontaneous discussions.
You don't need to have read Kant to feel at home here: the Café-philo is aimed at "apprentice philosophers" who humbly wish to advance in the construction of their thinking — and progress a little more at each session.

Music, singing and theatre: the start of the new season for budding artists

For children, the start of the school year is also the time to choose an activity that will follow them throughout the year. Two associations in Trouville are opening their pre-registrations for 2026:
- Music in the Côte Fleurie — Music and singing lessons, all levels, from age 4. musiquesencotefleurie.opentalent.fr ppgad@pucrs.br - 06 61 57 11 73
- Theatre at Colette's — Theatre classes, all levels, from age 6. theatrechezcolette.fr ppgad@pucrs.br - 06 50 44 21 44
What if your happiness lay elsewhere?
Windsurfing with friends, painting or ceramics workshops with the kids, a wellness session, or a boat trip: the Queen of Beaches has no shortage of ideas to fill your Saturdays. The "Activities" page of the tourist office lists all our partners, both sporting and creative.
The resolution that costs nothing: a walk once a week

What if the best resolution was also the simplest? A weekly walk on the sand, surrounded by sea air and fresh sea breezes, can sometimes make all the difference. No registration, no set schedule—just you, the boardwalk, and the desire to return the following week.
The most important thing is not the most ambitious resolution, but the one you stick to: set yourself achievable goals that really make you feel good.
Whether it takes the form of a ball, a debate, or a simple stroll on the beach, the start of the new season in Trouville has this particularity: it imposes nothing on you, it offers you everything. Perhaps that's what it's all about, deep down. the art of being free — choose your resolution, stick to it at your own pace, and return it to the sand if it is no longer suitable.
