Discovered by the painter Charles Mozin in 1825, the beach at Trouville-sur-Mer boomed in the XNUMXth century thanks to the fashion for sea bathing.
In 1867, the Promenade des Planches was built, today renamed "Savignac" in homage to the famous French poster artist who created numerous posters for the city.
The beach extends over 1200 meters of fine sand and shells, bordered by the sea on one side and sumptuous villas on the other, all built between 1860 and 1880, reflecting the different architectures in vogue at that time.
Depending on the season, you will find many activities for young and old: swimming pool, mini-golf, pony rides, Establishment of the Beach and the Sea, Read at the Sea chalet, rides, trampolines, tennis, nautical club and various play structures.
Trouville-sur-Mer beach is supervised every weekend in May, on public holidays, in June and September from 11 a.m. to 18 p.m., as well as every day from 11 a.m. to 19 p.m. in July and August. Beach and swimming surveillance is provided by qualified professionals.
Our 4-legged friends are welcome in Trouville-sur-Mer, provided they respect certain rules:
- It is forbidden to let your dog soil the play areas and sandboxes reserved for children
- Access to the beach is regulated: the beach is authorized for dogs all year round, before 10 a.m. and after 19 p.m. In compliance with these schedules, if dogs are released, they must always remain under the control of their owner or guardian.
- Dogs on a leash are allowed on the main boardwalk “Promenade Savignac”
