Visit of the Saint-Jean district — Historic district of the city

The 29 July 2025

TROUVILLE SUR MER

The visit is carried out by the Compagnons de la Chapelle Saint-Jean.

It is at the foot of the Callenville valley and its stream that the heart of the ancient village of Trouville-sur-Mer stretches out, dominated by the bell tower of its ancestral church Saint-Jean-Baptiste, a landmark at the mouth of the old path leading to Touques.

From the Quernet we will walk along the alleys leading from the creek to the church, now reduced to the status of Saint-Jean chapel, along the property of Madame de Boigne. We will cross the former property of the Estimauville family to find ourselves at the level of the first cemetery of the trouvillais surrounding the church. We will indicate how the primitive church was supplanted by Notre-Dame des-Victoires and will evoke the creation of the hospice and the hospital thanks to generous donors. We will return to our starting point by following the tracks of the Callenville stream.

Free ! Reservation required at the Tourist Office or at our online ticket office. Departure from the Tourist Office.
