Synopsis:

Suffering from leukemia, Jonathan Zimmermann, owner of a framing workshop in Hamburg, knows he is irremediably doomed. One day he meets the American Tom Ripley, a picture trafficker. The latter introduces Jonathan to one of his friends, who offers to kill a stranger for a large sum: Jonathan accepts, thus offering "life insurance" and a future for his family. It is the beginning of an inescapable spiral...
